Bréon Rydell’s song “It’s a Long, Long Way” is a poignant meditation on the journey of life, inspired by the birth of children and the hopes and uncertainties that come with new beginnings.

FREEDOM SONG

“Bréon – this is such a beautiful freedom song, such a great message and vibe.  And love that it has a positive touch, like things will get better actually.”

Frank Berman, Grammy award-winning record producer

Freedom Song is a call to the human family: rise, stand against tyranny and corruption; defend democracy and freedom. An anthem of courage, it reminds us that freedom is a priceless gift to nurture and protect.

CHRISTMAS TIME IN DONEGAL

Inspired by the music and storytelling traditions of Ireland, Bréon wrote Christmas Time in Donegal after reflecting on how moving there has impacted on his life, both personally and artistically:

“I’ve spent many years working abroad and can honestly say I have never felt so welcome, so creative, and so supported in my work, as I am in Donegal.  Working with Billy, Dermot, Seamus, Peadar and Margaret has been an absolute joy and pleasure.  We’re all very excited and upbeat about this track.”

Bréon can think of no better place that epitomises the spirit of Christmas Time in Donegal than The Olde Glen Bar in Glen.

“Glorious !  Makes me want to cross the Irish Sea and have a proper Christmas” x

A Letter For America

The original version of A Letter for America was written by Bréon Rydell in his formative years. This prophetic poem foretells events that we are witnessing today. It is a social commentary based on the ‘American Dream’ which continues to be under threat. The poem calls upon memories of the great political, social and creative American icons of a bygone era. Its essence reveals the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity and achieve success against great odds.

Bréon has also produced a live recitation on film of his poem, which was recorded at the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny, Fanad Lighthouse and at his home in Co Donegal, Ireland.
